ABOUT USTH
Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH, Vietnam-France University) is a public university established in 2009 within the framework of the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France based on Decision No. Decree No. 2067/QDTTg with the orientation of becoming an excellent world-class university training in science and technology.
The school belongs to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the nation's leading research agency, and receives strong support from the Alliance of more than 30 prestigious French universities and research organizations ( USTH Consortium) in training and research. The school is proud to be a symbol of higher education and research cooperation between Vietnam and France.
The school's strong training and research fields are selected on the basis of France's strengths in science and technology, human resource training needs and Vietnam's science and technology development strategy, including : Biotechnology and Pharmacy; Space and Aviation; Energy; Information and Communications Technology; Materials – Nanotechnology; Water – Environment – Oceanography...
Throughout the process of formation and development, the School has always given top priority to training quality. On November 7, 2023, the School was honored to receive a university training institution accreditation certificate from HCERES (French High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education) - an independent accreditation unit. , reputable in France and Europe. Thus, USTH is the youngest school among 6 schools in Vietnam to achieve institutional accreditation certification from HCERES
ABOUT FACILITIES:
Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH) was established within the framework of the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France in 2009. Since then, USTH has always received strong support from the government. Vietnam and the French government, especially the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the governing body of the University, invest in building a system of facilities for training and research. Up to now, USTH has a total usable area of more than 19,000m2, of which ~5100m2 for 70 classrooms and 7 large halls; and about 2667 m2 for laboratories and practice rooms.
The school was given the right to use the entire A21 building located on the Academy campus by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, with a total floor area of 8,500 m2. This is the headquarters and workplace for the administrative block and specialized faculties. Here, the School has 01 large lecture hall with 355 seats, 5 multimedia classrooms, 2 internationally affiliated laboratories, 28 research laboratories and 20 practice laboratories, 1 studio with modern equipment. Modern equipment, well invested according to international standards.
In addition, with the strong support of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, the University has signed an agreement to cooperate in research, training and sharing facilities with other Institutes/Centers for Research and Development. deploying technology from the Academy to expand the system of classrooms and practice laboratories to meet the increasing scale of training.
On the Academy campus, the University has signed cooperation agreements with institutes/research centers including: Institute of Geography, Institute of Tropical Technology, Institute of Marine Biochemistry, Institute of Space Technology, Institute of Environmental Technology , Documentation Information Center, High Technology Development Center, Academy of Science and Technology with a total shared area of nearly 2,200 m2.
Not only that, USTH has been approved by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to assign the right to use building 2H, also located on the Academy's campus, with a total floor area of 4,400m2. The school is implementing repairs and renovations to the building, expected to be put into use in the first quarter of 2025. The building includes 1 basement and 7 floors with 22 classrooms with a capacity of 30-60 seats and 3 conference rooms. Large schools can accommodate 170-200 seats.
Outside the Academy campus, at the Institute of Geology, located at 84 Chua Lang Street, USTH is supported with 14 classrooms with spacious areas, fully equipped with learning equipment such as whiteboards. , projector, computer. In addition, there is also a hall with a capacity of 80 seats equipped with good sound and lighting, meeting teaching activities, organizing conferences and seminars.
USTH's automotive technical workshop is located at Co Nhue Technology Research and Development Park with an area of nearly 600 m2. Here, students practice on cutting models, ignition systems, vehicle body electrical systems, and sensor systems from major, popular car manufacturers in the world.
At Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, the University shares the right to use the VNREDSAT-1 small satellite project building with a total floor area of 1200 m2, including 3 floors and 16 rooms to serve research and training. Here, the University has also arranged practice laboratories for students in the fields of Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Applied Environmental Science, Pharmacy and Aeronautical Engineering.
On September 27, 2021, the School construction project officially started at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park on a total area of 36 hectares with a total investment of 178.87 million USD from ADB loan. Currently, the project is urgently implementing construction to strive for completion in 2028. After the project is completed, USTH will become a university with facilities synchronous with international standards. Classrooms, laboratories, gymnasiums, libraries, dormitories. USTH is expected to become one of the prestigious centers for research training and technology transfer in Vietnam in the future.
